In the summer I go to a local beach called Wiseman’s Bridge where I sit on the rocks and make drawings. Over the years my presence has become a familiar feature for many of the families that own caravans. Their children come and perch on the rocks around to watch me draw and ask me for portraits.

I really enjoy their company and participation in the genesis of the drawings
Over several years I have grappled with the proportions and shapes of children’s faces. Their stature and the way they walk too. It is slow rewarding work that has gradually come together.
